The publication is intended to provide an understanding of the approaches to the principal methods of valuation together with an explanation of the property market and related concepts. The contents of the book discuss Real Estate and its nature, providing a justification where valuation methods need the intervention. In addition, it deals with the methods, the theory of methods, and the applications with simple examples. There are provisions made to discuss certain criticisms on property valuation too. Further, some determinants with which a professional valuer is concerned, such as the yield and its derivation, are discussed. Except for all those applications, the book commences on vlaution of interests that will expire upon the death of the property holder.

“Real Estate Studies” is the proceeding of the real estate projects conducted by the B.Sc. Estate Management and Valaution (Special) Degree, Part Ⅲ students in the areas of Real Proeprty Valution, Urban and Regional Planning, Geographical Information Systems, Real Estate Marketing and Real Estate Finance.

The field visit for this project was taken place on 4th-6th in November 2013 at the project site, Moragahakanda, Matake District of Sri Lanka, with the coordination of the Department of Estate Management and Valaution and the Maheweli Authority of Sri Lanka.
