Land Management and Real Estate Markets
Scope
Land management and real estate markets are central to sustainable development, shaping how land resources are allocated, governed, valued, and transformed over time. This research domain explores the interaction between land policy frameworks, governance structures, market mechanisms, and spatial development processes that influence land use efficiency and equity.
In rapidly urbanizing and resource-constrained contexts, land markets face increasing challenges such as informal development, valuation inconsistencies, data limitations, and competing land-use pressures. Effective land management therefore requires integrated approaches that combine policy innovation, technological systems, and participatory governance to ensure transparency, efficiency, and sustainability.
The CRES promotes research that enhances understanding of land systems, strengthens real estate market functionality, and supports evidence-based land governance and policy development.
